DO YOU BELIEVE?

Luke.1.45 – Blessed is she who has believed that what the Lord has said to her will be accomplished!” [NIV]

Rom.4.20 – He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;
Rom.4.21 – And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.

As a young girl growing up, my parents tried as much as possible to Carry us along in their Faith in God. One of such ways was through Prayers and Bible study as a family. They would always tell us that “God answers prayers” and “God is Mighty.” One of our traditions was to pray and fast for family issues. Every time we did fasting and prayer, God always came through. So, one time we needed financial breakthrough, we did the same thing; we came together as a family and asked for God’s intervention. My dad is a Road Signs contractor while my mom was a petty trader. While we were waiting for God to help us, an issue came up in the village that required that my dad travel. As the deadline for the journey drew close without any solution, my parents decided to take money from my mother’s business for the journey. As children, we were disappointed. Could God not come through this time? On the day of the journey, while doing our morning devotion, we had a visitor. After the morning devotion, we left the parlour to give my dad space to attend to his visitor. After a while, we were called back in. My mom had tears in her eyes; I thought to myself that the visitor brought bad news. Alas!!! It was the best news ever!! The Visitor came with a job for my dad. He also came with the money for the job. Guess what?! The job was to be done in my hometown!!! We killed 2 birds with one stone! God not only answered our prayers, He worked things out to favor us. I can’t forget that day. That was over 20 years ago. But do you know what? We still talk about it today.

Have you asked God for something? Has He promised you something? The God we serve is able to keep His Promise No matter how long it takes. He is Just arranging this to favor you.
If He could give Barren Elizabeth a son; give Virgin Mary a Son; Give Old Abraham children, then your request is not impossible. The Question should not be “Can God Do It?” The Question should be, “Do You Believe?”.

Dearly Beloved, it is not too late. It is not impossible. JUST BELIEVE.

Mark.9.23 – “If you can?” Said Jesus. “Everything is Possible for him who Believes.” -NIV

Gen.1.26 – And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. — null

Gen.1.27 – So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. — null

Gen.1.28 – And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. — null

WE HAVE DOMINION!!!

GOD created the world and everything in it including man in 6 days. But did you notice that in everything He did and all the instructions He gave Man, He didn’t mention the devil. I thought that God, knowing how “powerful” ( I used this word for lack of what to use to describe how we perceive the devil) the devil is will at least warn man to be careful or give some instruction on how to handle it. But He didn’t. Do you know why? Because man was made in God’s Image. An image is a reflection of the original thing. From a scientific point of view, an image can do whatever the original thing can do. So because the devil was not a threat to God, he wasn’t a threat to man either. The devil knew this and the only way he could gain access to man was through deception. And his style had not changed. He still tries to decieve us with lies and illusions. Dear Child of God created in God’s Image you are seated with Christ Jesus in Heavenly Places above Principalities and Powers. YOU HAVE DOMINION!!!!

YOUR KNEES: A PLACE OF POWER

The story of Abraham is usually told as one that depicts Courage, Responsiveness / Obedience to God and Faith. Abraham is seen as a Hero of Faith. But we seem to forget or ignore his support system: Sarah. I am amazed at the kind of life she lived. In my opinion, Sarah was a strong woman. Do you know what it means to follow a man who didn’t know where he was going (Gen 12:1); To follow a man whose Anchor was a Promise; an impossible one at that! But Sarah followed Abraham everywhere. It takes a strong woman to do that. This same Sarah was given out in marriage by her husband twice (Gen 12:14 – 20 & Gen 20:1- 17).
( I thought that men took oaths to love and Protect🙄🙄)
Yet this strong woman stayed with her husband. Do you know her secret?

She went on Her Knees before Her God and Her Husband. 1 Peter 3:5 puts it this way
1Pet.3.5 – That is the way the holy women of old made themselves beautiful. They trusted God and accepted the authority of their husbands. [NLT]

As a Wife, YOUR KNEES is your greatest place of POWER!!!
YOUR KNEE IS A SYMBOL OF SUBMISSION. Submit to God and Submit to your Hubby’s Authority.
Like Mama Aity will say, “Settle Everything on your Knees.”

When she “went on her knees,” 3 things happened

1. God intervened on her behalf ( See Gen 12:17 & 20:18)
2. Her husband listened to her opinion (See Gen 21:9 – 12)
3. She got her heart’s desire: Isaac.

Your Knees is not a place of weakness, it is a place of great strength. On Your Knees you bring the Heavens Down; you command open Doors. On your Knees you have the ears of both God and your husband.

Let Sarah be an example to us of who and what a wife should be. Someone who takes charge on her knees. Do not let fear keep you away from this place of Great Power.

Note: Your Knees should not be a place for manipulation.😉
